Our Vocational Rehabilitation service can make a real difference if you’re faced with long-term
incapacity and need to make a claim under your Unum income protection policy.

You don’t have to use the service. If you decide that  it’s not for you, your decision will not affect the benefits that we will pay you in any way.

But if you do want to give it a try, you’ll have access to an award-winning service, supported by a nationwide team of consultants who come from a diverse range of professional health backgrounds, including occupational health, occupational psychology and nursing. They will:

• Make suggestions to try to make it easier to deal with any medical condition you may have when preparing to return to work.
• Produce a back to work plan that allows you to take things at your own pace.
• Suggest changes to your work environment and normal working routine to help make life just that little bit easier.

Helping you face a new direction

If it's not possible to return you to normal occupation, our consultants can also offer pratical help and suggestions to allow you to embark on a new career path.

They will review your skills and abilities, help to revisit your CV and offer practical tips and suggestions that will help you when attending interviews. They can even recommend courses to help you retrain, or show you where to find more information if you want to set up your own business.
